Accounts - Attaching a Customer Account and Defining a User’s Account Type

IBOS gives you the capability to attach customer accounts to your registered commercial accounts (B2B) and Salesperson accounts. The relationship of these customer accounts with the registered account needs to be specified to set the type of account a user will have.

Attaching An Account To The User

To attach an account to a specific user, open the Accounts tab and click the Users link.

This will bring up the list of users found in the system and display them on the right side of the screen. Select the user that needs to be assigned a customer to access the user’s profile page. Click on the spreadsheet icon with a plus sign at the bottom of the main frame.

This will bring up the list of all the customer accounts saved in the system. Choose the account you want to attach by double-clicking it.

You will then be asked to define the customer account’s relationship type. You can choose from the following:

  • Account Owner
  • Account User
  • Representative
  • SalesPerson

A Customer Relationship Type is primarily used to label the user account you’re creating. However, it can also provide the account with added functionality depending on the type that was chosen.

Defining a User Account Type - By Customer Relationship Type

After attaching the customer account you selected to a user, it’s time to define the user’s account type. By default, user accounts with an AccountOwner or AccountUser relationship type provides access to account information meant for B2B or Commercial accounts. The SalesPerson relationship type gives you access to the account information specifically designed for your sales team.

Once a customer account has been added to the Accounts tab, information set for this account will be displayed in your My Account page.

Editing a User Account Type

The Account Type tab provides the option to edit a user account. However, you can only add these two types on top of the existing type:

  • IBOS
  • B2C

IBOS it will not allow you to change the account type that was set based on the customer Relationship Type that was selected when a customer account was linked.

To edit the User Account Types press the Edit button and check whether you want to add IBOS or B2C to the existing types. Once you’ve made your selection, press Save.
