Accounts - Security Profiles

The User Profile has a Security tab which allows you to control the features and information that your users can see once they access their My Account section.

Listed below are the Security profiles you can assign to a user. Keep in mind that you can choose to assign more than one security profile per user, enabling them to access more information from your My Account page.

I. Administrators

B2B

B2B users given Administrators access can view all account information under the Business Accounts section such as Invoices, Quotes, Orders, Jobs and Statements. Users are also able to view and download your Vendor Price Catalogs.

Access to Web Admin, User Profiles and the Emulate Customer feature is also granted for users with Administrators access.

B2C

B2C users with Administrators access can view their User Profile, enabling them to change password and email addresses. They are also allowed to activate and reject users requesting for account activation.

In terms of account information, B2C users with Administrators settings are only granted limited access. They can only view details about their Orders and Quotes. Other information such as invoices, statements, and jobs are not accessible to them. However, they are still able to access your site’s Web Admin, User Profiles section and the Emulate Customer feature.

II. AccountActivators

B2B

B2B users given the AccountActivators profile are allowed to access your My Account’s Activate Users feature. This gives them the authority to approve or reject activation requests. They can also view all the account information under the Business Accounts section such as Invoices, Quotes, Orders, Jobs, Statements and the Vendor Price Catalogs. However, access to Web Admin and to your Emulate Customer features is not granted.

B2C

B2C users with AccountActivators access are given access to your website’s Activate Users feature, enabling them to approve or reject a customer’s registration request. They can access their User Profile section enabling them to change their password and email address. They are also allowed to view their Orders and Quotes information.

Access to other account details from the Business Accounts section, Web Admin and the Emulate Customer features are not permitted.

III. OrderManagement

B2B

B2B users given an OrderManagement profile have limited access to your site’s Web Admin. They can only use the site’s Store Management feature to manage orders from customers. Despite the limited access in Web Admin, B2B users with this profile can still view all account information under the Business Accounts section. However, access to the Activate Users and the Emulate Customer features are not granted.

B2C

B2C users with OrderManagement profiles can only use the Store Management feature of your Web Admin to manage and view customer orders. Access to the User Profile, Orders and Quotes sections is still allowed.

B2C users with OrderManagement profiles won’t be able to view the Activate Users page and use the Emulate Customer feature.

IV. BusinessManagers

B2B

B2B users that have the BusinessManagers profile are given complete access to the Business Accounts section to help them manage their historical and current account data. They can also view the account details of their different customer accounts using the Emulate Customer feature. While access to the Activate Users and Web Admin is not allowed, users with this profile can access the User Profile section of the site.

B2C

B2C users that have BusinessManagers profiles can access their Orders and Quotes sections. They also have access to the Emulate Customer feature, allowing them to emulate a specific customer to make it easier to view a customer’s account information even without the customer’s login details.

Access to other Business Accounts (Invoices, Statements, Jobs, Quotes and your Vendor Price Catalogs), Web Admin and Activate Users sections is not permitted.

V. Vendors

B2B

B2B users with a Vendors profile only have access to the Business Accounts and User Profiles sections. They can view their different account information including their Invoices, Quotes, Orders, Jobs and Statements. However, access to the Activate Users, Emulate Customer feature and Web Admin are not granted.

B2C

B2C users given Vendors profiles only have access to their User Profile and Consumer Accounts section. They are allowed to change their password and change their email address. They can also access details about the Orders and Quotes they’ve made.

Access to other Business Accounts (Invoices, Statements, Jobs, Quotes and your Vendor Price Catalogs), Activate Users, and Web Admin are not permitted.

VI. SalesPeople & Salesforce Admin

B2B

B2B users given a SalesPeople and Salesforce Admin profiles only have access to the Business Accounts and User Profiles sections of the My Account page. They can change email addresses and passwords as well as view their account information including their Invoices, Quotes, Jobs, Orders and Statements.

However, access to the Activate Users, Emulate Customer feature and Web Admin are not granted.

B2C

B2C users with a SalesPeople and Salesforce Admin profiles have access to their User Profile, Orders and Quotes section. However, access to other Business Accounts (Invoices, Statements, Jobs, Quotes and your Vendor Price Catalogs), Activate Users, and Web Admin are not permitted.
