Content Editor - Hyperlink Manager

The Hyperlink Manager feature lets you insert a hyperlink into your website’s content pages.

This feature offers the following functionalities:

  • Allows you to link an image and/or text to another HTML page and make them clickable.
  • Set an anchor text
  • Create an e-mail link

Linking to another HTML page

Click the Hyperlink Manager button to open the feature.

Type the URL path you want the text or phrase to link to in the URL field.

In the Link Text field, you’ll be asked to enter the text that will serve as your link. If you selected a text or phrase before opening the Hyperlink Manager, the Link Text field will display the selected word or phrase.

The Target field will enable you to set where the HTML page will open to. You can choose to have the page open into the following sections:

  • Same Window
  • New Window
  • Parent Window
  • Browser Window
  • Search Pane
  • Media Pane

The Existing Anchor field lets you set the text you want the URL link to anchor to. This works well if you just want to link to a word or phrase found in the same page.

Once you’ve set up your link, click the OK button at the bottom of the page to add the new link.

Creating an Image Link

To make an image clickable, select the image you want to serve as the link to the new HTML page.

Open the Hyperlink Manager and enter the URL directory where you want the image to be linked to. Set the Target, Anchor or CSS Class of the image link.

Once everything is in order, click the OK button to save your settings.

Using the Document Manager to Link to a Page

You can also select from your current list of HTML pages by clicking the Document Manager button beside the URL field.

The Document Manager window will give you the list of HTML pages that you can link to. Once you select a page, you’ll be asked whether you want to add a Target to that link (opening to a new window or a same window) and if you want to add a CSS class to it for added customization.

Once you’ve selected a page and fixed its settings, click the Insert button to add your new link.

Using Anchor Text

An anchor text allows you to link to a section in the same page where your anchor text is placed. First, you will need to select the word or phrase that will serve as your anchor text.

Open the Hyperlink Manager and click the Anchor tab. In the Anchor tab, type the name of your anchor text and click OK.

Setting Up an E-mail Link

The Hyperlink Manager also allows you to add an e-mail link to a word, phrase, or image found in your web page.

To set one up, open the Hyperlink Manager and select the E-mail tab. On the Address field, type the e-mail address you want to link to. On the Subject field, type the subject of your email. Click OK to save your settings.

Removing a Hyperlink

Aside from adding a link to your web page, you also have the option to remove it. While it may have a button that’s separate from your Hyperlink Manager, it still works in conjunction with it.
