ECommerce - Store Management - Advertisements

The Advertisement feature gives you the tools to create and display advertisements on your website. The ads are designed to appear in different sections of the site called “zones” and can be configured to come in different sizes, position and transition effect.

Setting Up Your Advertisement Group

To insert an advertisement in your website, click the Advertisement Add button found in the top right corner of the page.

In the Advertisement Add window, you will be asked to provide the following information pertaining to the advertisement you’re creating:

  • Name
  • Ads Zone / Position
  • Ad Banner Size
  • Number of ads at one time?
  • Transition
  • Plug-In Attributes
  • Orientation

Name

This will serve as the name of your advertisement. Be sure to choose one that’s related to the ad you’ll be posting for easier tracking and management.

Ads Zone / Position

The Ads Zone / Position lets you choose the section or zone where your advertisement will be displayed. You can choose from the following:

  • None - Your advertisement will not appear on your website.
  • Left - Your advertisement will appear on the left column of your website.
  • Top - The advertisement will appear at the top of your content page or store catalog.
  • Right - Your advertisement will appear on the right column of your website.
  • Bottom - The advertisement will appear at the lower portion of your content page or store catalog.
  • Slideshow - Configured to appear in your homepage, advertisements set up for this zone can be designed to occupy a section of your content area.
  • Carousel - Advertisements in this zone appear at the footer section of your website and are made to scroll from right to left.

While the top, left and right zones are already pre-configured for your website, the other zones need to be requested for configuration before they can be used.

Ad Banner Size

The Ad Banner Size lets you select the size of your advertisement from a list of pre-configured sizes.

Based on the diagram above, the ad banner sizes are configured for a particular ad zone.

  • Top - Leaderboard, Full Banner, Half Banner
  • Left / Right Column - Skyscraper, Wide Skyscraper, Micro Bar, Square Button, Rectangle
  • Slideshow / Bottom - Large Rectangle, Medium Rectangle
  • Carousel - Microbar, Square Button, Rectangle

Number of ads at one time?

This lets you set the number of advertisements that will appear on your site.

Transition

Transition allows you to pick the type of effect that will be applied to your advertisement. You can choose from the following:

  • Static ” Displays all your ads, either horizontally or vertically depending on the Orientation (see below) that was set.
  • Rotating ” Ads automatically change once a page refreshes or reloads.
  • Cycle ” Similar to an animated GIF or Flash file, the ads automatically transition from one ad to the next.
  • Slideshow ” Allows your advertisements to fade in and out when they transfer from one advertisement to the next.
  • Carousel ” Allows your advertisements to scroll from left to right or vice-versa.

Plug-In Attributes

The Plug-In Attributes is used solely for the Slideshow advertisement.

It enables you to customize how the slideshow functions. Settings include the slideshows width, height, speed or delay in transitioning from one image to another, and its transition effect.

For the sph and spw attributes, just leave both settings at 1 to give your slideshow the standard sliding effect as each image transitions to the next.

The attributes displayed above are the only ones you can use to configure your website’s slideshow.

Orientation

Orientation lets you configure how your advertisements will be laid out, whether horizontally or vertically.

Once all the information for your new advertisement has been selected and provided, click the Disk icon on the right to save your new ad.
