ECommerce - Store Management - Advertisements - Configuring Your Ads

Once you’ve set up your Advertisement group, you can now configure it by adding images or text and specifying the pages where it will appear.

Image Ads

The Image Ads tab displays the list of advertisements currently in the selected group ID. Here, you’ll be able to see the name of the advertisements you added, its start date as well as its end date.

This section also allows you add a new advertisement - either image-based or content-based - which will then be included in the current list of ads.

Adding an Advertisement

To add an advertisement, click the Add button at the bottom of the page. This will bring up the Advertisement Image Add window.

In the Advertisement Image Add window, you will need to provide the following information to set up your advertisement:

  • Name
  • Start and End date
  • URL
  • Target Window
  • Sort Order

For the URL field, make sure that there is a corresponding link placed there. Without a link, the ad will not appear on your website. If you don’t want your ad to link to any page, simply put the number sign (#) on the field. Be sure to check the Active checkbox as well to ensure that the image is displayed on your website.

Once you’ve provided the necessary information, you can now define what type of advertisement you want to add. The Image Ads tab provides two types:

  • Image-based Advertisements
  • Content-based Advertisements

Image-Based Ads

Image-based ads are ads that use images only. The images can be static or an animated .GIF file. These ads cannot be combined with any form of text.

To create one, click the Add Image button found in the Image tab and select an image file from your computer. The image you selected will be displayed on the right of the screen. Click the Disk icon on the top right corner of the screen to save your work. The new image ad will then be displayed on the designation section in your website.

Content-Based Ads

Content advertisements are purely text-based advertisements. These ads can be customized using HTML and CSS through the Content Editor screen.

To create one, you will need to upload a dummy image in the Image tab. It can be any type of image since it will only be used to activate the feature.

Once the dummy image has been uploaded, check the Show Content Over Image checkbox. This will allow the text-based ad to overwrite the Image-based advertisement.

Paste or type the content you want to use for your advertisement. Again, the content can be customized using HTML and CSS. Once you’re done putting in your content, click the Disk icon to save your work.

Target Page

The Target Page tab allows you to specify the page/s where your advertisement will be displayed.

To set your target pages, click the Add button at the bottom of the page to bring up the Advertisement Target Page Add window.

In the Page Type dropdown, select the page where you want the ad to appear in. You can choose from the following:

  • Content Page - The advertisement will appear in the selected Content Page. Please be advised that the content page needs to be configured first by our developers before it can show the advertisement.
  • Product Category - The advertisement will appear in the selected Product Category. If a category isn’t specified, the advertisement will appear in all the Product Category pages.
  • Product List - The advertisement will appear in the selected Product List page. If a product list page isn’t specified, the advertisement will appear in all the Product List pages.
  • Product Detail - The advertisement will appear in the selected Product Detail page. If a product detail page isn’t specified, the advertisement will appear in all Product Detail pages.
  • Product Promotion - The advertisement will appear in the Product Promotions page.

Note: When you select a Page Type, the third/final field changes depending on the Page Type that was selected.

Once you’re done setting your advertisement’s image or content and its target pages, click the Disk icon at the top right corner of the screen to save your new advertisement.
