ECommerce - Store Management - Category Browser - Related Items

The Related Items feature allows you to display different items that are similar to one particular product in terms of functionality or appearance. This will provide your customers with more shopping options while giving you another medium to display your products.

Setting up a Product’s Related Items

To assign a related item to a product, go to your site’s Web Admin and open its ECommerce section. Click on the Product Search link.

The feature will enable you to look for a product by ID, SKU, Name or Parent’s ID. Once the product you’re looking for has been displayed, double click it to access its Product Profile page. Inside its profile page, select the Related Items tab to access its contents.

Click the (+) button located on the right side of your screen to bring up the Related Product Add window.

The Related Product Add window will display the Parent Product (the product you selected earlier), the Related Product selector and the Relationship Type drop-down.

The Related Product selector lets you choose the item you want to add as a related product from your inventory.

Just double-click the item you want to add and it will appear on the Related Product field.

After selecting your product, choose the Relationship Type of the product from the Relationship Type drop-down menu.

You can choose from the following:

• Equivalent - An item similar to the Parent Product.
• Replacement Part - A replacement part for the Parent Product.
• Accessory - An accessory of the Parent Product.
• Option - An alternative to the Parent Product.

After selecting a relationship type, the related product will be added to the list of Related Items.

To add more products, just repeat the steps above. You also have the option to delete any of the related items you added just by selecting the Delete (X ) button at the top right corner of the Related Items table.
