ECommerce - Product Search - Web Marketplace Integration

One of the features that IBOS offers is the integration with web market places such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and others. If a company has a store in any of these merchant sites, IBOS can have them upload product information stored in their back-office system to these web market places. Since the back-office system contains all pertinent information about the product, it eliminates the hassle of using the uploading feature offered by these web market sites which often require manual input of all information.

Adding Product Information

To start adding product details to the item you plan to upload, go to your site’s Web Admin and select the Store Management link located in the ECommerce tab to access the Product Search feature. Search for the item you want to upload and double-click it to open its Product Profile.

In the Product Profile page, click the Pencil icon found at the top right corner to start adding the necessary information. Start by typing a description about the product in the Description field. The field has a maximum limit of 255 characters.

Content Tab

After typing in your description, go to the Content tab and click the HTML screen option at the lower left side portion of the screen. This is where you will place your product’s bulleted list of features. Type the following HTML code below:

  • <ul>
  • <li>Made from strong and durable materials.</li>
  • <li>Low-maintenance</li>
  • <li>Easy to set up</li>
  • </ul>

To add more bullet points, just type the product feature you want to add between a new set of <li> and <li> tags. Please be advised that you can only put in a maximum of five bullet points. After typing the code in, click the Disk icon on the top right section of the page to save your work before moving on to the next tab.

Details Tab

The Details tab contains details about the product you plan to upload. Start by defining the item’s Store Product Brand ID. If the brand hasn’t been added or is not part of your current list, you can add it by clicking on the [..] button.

In the Store Product Brand ID Add window, click the [+] button on the top right section to add a new brand.

After setting the Store Product Brand ID, fill up the other missing information in the Details tab. Important details that need to be provided include:

  • Min. Pack Qty
  • UPC Code
  • InStock Quantity
  • Release Date
  • Notes
  • Applicable product measurements (Length, Width, Height, or Weight)

You can choose to save your work again by clicking on the Disk icon on the top right section of your screen before moving to the next tab.

External Data Tab

After filling up the Details field, go to the External Data tab. Click on the [+] button at the bottom of your screen to access the Add/Edit External Data window.

In the Add/Edit External Data window, go to the External System ID drop-down menu and select the web market place where you want to upload your product to. Be sure to check the Enabled box to make your product posting active. Leaving it unchecked will prevent the item from being posted. You can also uncheck the Enabled box if you want to pull down a listed product from the web market place.

In addition, you also need to provide information for the following external data fields:

  • Category Code
  • Subject Content
  • Used For
  • Target Audience
  • Keywords
  • Search Terms

Once all the required information have been provided, click the Save button. You will be brought back to the Product Edit window. Click the Disk icon again to save the data stored in the product details page.

Adding Product Image

Aside from providing product information, you can also add images to the product you plan to upload. This can be done using the Images tab. To add an image, click the Add Image button.

Select the image you want to upload from your computer. The image will automatically be saved into the system after it is selected.

You can upload more than one image but each one needs to be properly categorized. One image needs to be set as the Main image while the rest have to be set as Alternate images.

To do this, go to the image you want to configure and choose your desired setting from the drop-down menu located at the left side of the screen. Repeat the process for the rest of the images uploaded into the system.

When it comes to uploading a product, keep in mind that the upload process may take a while since it is based on the processing speed set by the web marketplace.
