User Calendar - Managing Your Events in Web Admin

Managing the User Calendar feature can be done through your site’s Web Admin. With an easy-to-use interface, you’ll be able to add, edit and delete entries quickly and efficiently.

To access the main Calendar feature, click the Website tab on the left-side of the screen and select the User Calendar link.

The menu provides three links:

  • Event Browser
  • Event Locations
  • Event Subscriptions

To add an event, select the Event Browser link to open the Event Calendar Browser.

The Event Calendar Browser lets you add your events just by selecting a specific date. There are two ways to add an event - you can double-click a date to open the Event window or you can right click a date to bring up the New Event button to access the Event window.

In the Event window, you’ll be asked to provide the following information set-up your event entry:

  • Subject or the Title of the event
  • Description
  • Start and End Time
  • Venue
  • Location
  • URL of the event page (if you have one set up)

Viewing Options

The Calendar feature allows you to view the events and data you’ve entered using two display options - By Day and By Month.

The By Month display option is the default view that you’ll see when you open the Event Browser window, enabling you to see the entire period day by day.

When viewing the calendar By Day, you’ll be able to view the calendar entry on a per hourly basis. If a specific date has an event in place, it will display the event from the time it started until the time it will end.

To view the calendar By Day, just click the Day button found on the upper left corner of the window. To revert it back to its default state, select the Month button beside it.

Adding a Calendar Event

To add an event to a particular date, double-click the date of the event or right-click the date to bring up the New Event button.

This will open up the Event Window page. Fill up the Subject, Description and Venue fields. Be sure to set the time, location and the link to the official event page if there is one.

Once all the necessary details have been provided, click the Save button to save the event information.

If you don’t have a page for the calendar entry, you have the option of leaving the URL field blank. Once a user clicks on the event that doesn’t have a URL, the user will be directed to the event’s default page which contains the basic information about the event (date, time, location). The page will also give you the option to sign up for the event.

Deleting a Calendar Event

To delete an event from your Calendar, select the event you want removed by clicking the X mark that appears on the right side of the event.

A message prompt will appear to confirm your request to remove the event from your calendar.

Click OK if you want to delete the event. If you change your mind and decide to keep it, just click the Cancel button.

Keep in mind that once an event has been removed, you will need to re-enter it and its details again.

Month and Year Navigation

The Calendar feature also gives you the ability to go through a particular month or year using the navigation system found at the top-right corner of the Event Browser.

To access it, click the Calendar icon located between the left and right arrows.

To toggle from month to year, just click the month being displayed in the black header section. This will change the window view from displaying the number of days in a month to the number of months in a year.

To go back to the original setting, just click on the month you want to view.
