Website Menus - Creating Website Menu Items

The Website Menus section gives you the tools to create, edit, sort, and delete the links displayed on your website’s banner, masthead, My Account and footer sections.

Creating a Menu

To create new links or sub-menus, click the Website Menus link found in the Website tab to open your Menu Editor.

The Menu Editor displays the different sections of your website where your links are placed. Sections with existing menu links have an arrow found on the left of their names.

Clicking this arrow will bring down the menus - both main and sub menus - under its name.

Adding a Menu

To add a new menu, select the section where you want a new link to be added. After making your choice, go to the lower part of your Menu Editor and click the New Link button.

The new link you created will appear on the left side of your screen under the default name NewMenuLink.

On the right side of the screen, you can configure your new link by filling up the information needed for each field:

  • Name - This will serve as your menu’s filename in Web Admin. It is also displayed on the left side of the Menu Editor screen. During the set up of your new menu link, it is important to click the Validate button to save the name of your new menu. If the new link has not been validated, it will display the name “NewMenuLink” instead.
  • Title - The Title serves as the display name of your menu. Whatever you type here will be reflected on your website once it has been saved.
  • Visible Checkbox - This box should be checked if you want your menu to become visible on your website. Leaving it unchecked will remove the menu from your website.
  • Sort - The Sort field lets you define the chronological order of the menu you’re creating. If you type in "1", that menu will be the first link to appear. Typing "2" will make it the second, and so on.
  • URL - This field contains the URL or directory where your page menu will link to. You can type the URL path manually or you can select from the pages you created by pressing the Page Lookup [...] button beside the field.

Once you’ve provided the necessary information, click the Save button found in the lower right corner to save your new menu link.

Changing / Editing a Website Menu

The Menu Editor also gives you the ability to edit and make changes to an existing menu link. To edit a link, choose the section where your link is located. Click the arrow beside it to expand the menu and display the links created for that section.

Click the menu link you want to edit. Once you’re done updating its information, click the Save button found on the lower right section of the page.

Deleting a Menu

Aside from creating and editing a menu link, the Menu Editor lets you delete an existing menu. To remove a menu from your current list, select the Menu Section containing the link you want to remove.

After making your selection, click the Delete button at the bottom of the page. Keep in mind that once a menu link has been removed, it cannot be recovered. After deleting the menu, click the Save button found on the far right section of the screen to save the changes you’ve made.
