Content Editor - Document Manager

The Document Manager feature gives you the ability to upload documents that you can have customers download. Accessible in your Web Admin's Content Editor, it allows you to link a text or image found in your page to a PDF, Text, Excel, or Word document that you have on file.

Using the Document Manager

To start using the Document Manager feature, open an existing page or create a new one in your site's Content Browser. Type in the text or insert the image that will serve as the link to the document you want your customers to download.

After selecting the text or image you'll be using, click the Document Manager button.

Note: You also have the option of opening the Document Manager directly without selecting a text from your page's existing content. The text link can then be created in the Document Manager window once the file has been selected.

The Document Manager window will give you the option to select the file from your website's directories or you can upload the file from your computer. To pick one from your website's folders, just look for the directory where the file is located and select it.

Should you decide to upload the file from your computer, select the folder where you want your files to be stored then click the Upload button.

The Upload window starts you off with three fields which you can use to upload your files. If you need to upload more than three documents, you can click the Add button to insert another field. Should you decide to remove a file prior to uploading your documents, just click the Remove button. Once your files have been selected, click the Upload button.

The files will automatically be saved and displayed in your chosen directory.

Once all the files have been uploaded, select the particular file you want to link to your web page. You can configure its setting on the right of your screen.

If you opted to use a text-based link during the start of the set-up, it will be displayed in the Link Text field. Here, you can still make any changes to the selected text.

The Target field on the other hand, lets you set whether the document will open in the same browser window or in a new one. Once you've configured the settings to your liking, click the Insert button to save your work.

In your website, visitors who now click on the text "Click Here to Download" will automatically be directed to the document you attached using the Document Manager feature.
