ECommerce - Store Management - Product Search

The Product Search section displays a list of all the items you have in your product catalog. Here, you’ll be able to access each product’s profile page and make changes to any of their information. The Product Search window also allows you to add a product manually or to set up one of your items as a Parent product.

Accessing the Product Search Feature

To access the Product Search feature, open the Ecommerce tab found in your Web Admin menu. Select the Store Management menu and click the Product Search sub-menu.

The Product Search feature comes with a variety of search parameters to help you narrow down your list and find what you’re looking for. The feature lets you find products using the following data:

  • ID
  • SKU
  • Name
  • Parent’s ID

Aside from the primary search parameters, the Product Search feature enables you to find items via the following:

  • System State
  • By Image Availability (Has Image
  • By Content Availability (Has Content)

The feature also gives you the option to search for Parent Products - which when selected - will remove all child products and those that have not been configured to be a parent product item from the table.

Inside the Product’s Profile

All the products listed in the Product Search section come with their own Product Profile section. The Product Profile houses the content, images and attributes of a product. The information here can be edited based on your needs.

To access a product’s profile, just double-click a product from your list. Inside the Product Profile, you are given access to the following tabs:

  • Preview - The Preview tab lets you see what the finished product page will look like.
  • Images - The Image tab lets you add/upload a product image.
  • Related Items - Lets you link items related to the product and have them appear in the Product Details page.
  • Attributes - This tab gives you the ability to add product attributes to your items to make them easily searchable by customers.

For more information on how to use these tabs, click here to read our Help File about the Product Profile section.

Editing a Store Product

To edit a product page, click on the Pencil icon found at the upper right corner to enter the Product Edit page.

The Product Edit page contains four tabs which you can use for customization: Content, Details, and SEO Fields and External Data.

Content Tab

The Content tab lets you add content to your product page. More often than not, this could be the product’s description and specifications.

Similar to the Web Admin’s CMS, you can design the page using a combination of HTML and CSS. The tab contains a Design view which lets you see the page as it is and an HTML view which enables you to make changes to the page’s codes directly.

Details Tab

The Details tab provides a list of data fields that allows you to provide further information about your product. It contains a number of check boxes which you can check to further customize what your customers will see on the page.

Notable fields that can be used are the UPC code fields and the Unit of Measurements (UOM) fields which include Length, Width, Height and Weight.

There are also a total of four checkboxes which can be used to configure how the product will be set up and displayed:

  • Hidden
  • Hide Price
  • Special Order
  • Has Multiple Versions

SEO Fields

The SEO Fields tab gives you the basic tools to optimize your product page to help it rank in search engine results pages. The tab provides the following fields which you can use: Page Title, SEO Description, and SEO keywords.

External Data

The External Data tab is primarily used for synching to a third-party e-commerce system to make uploading an item from Web Admin quick and hassle-free. This was designed to sync primarily with top sites like Amazon, eBay and Etsy.

To upload an item to a third-party e-commerce system, you’ll need to fill up the fields provided in the Add / Edit External Data window. The information posted in this window is designed to match with those from Amazon, eBay or Etsy to avoid any conflict in data transfer.

The External Data tab will keep track of the uploading process until the item is successfully posted. Should a problem occur during upload, the error will be placed in the Last Sync Status box.

Once you’re done editing the product page, click the Save button (Disk icon) found at the top-right corner of your screen.
